NeoForge is supported by current Better Combat releases. The best setup process is still conservative: one game version, one loader branch and one tested dependency set.
Verify NeoForge and Minecraft together
A NeoForge profile is defined by both the loader and the Minecraft version. Better Combat must target that same combination.
Use the NeoForge release
Choose the file marked for NeoForge. Loader names are not interchangeable even when two builds share the same Better Combat version.
Read dependency requirements
Some Better Combat versions require playerAnimator and Cloth Config API. Install the dependency variants intended for the same NeoForge/Minecraft environment.
Check client and server parity
For multiplayer, compare the Better Combat file, loader branch and relevant dependencies on both sides. A server issue can look like a combat issue when the real cause is version parity.
Update in controlled steps
When moving to a newer game branch, update the loader and dependencies before adding the new Better Combat build. Keep a rollback copy of the working profile.
